How to Make the Perfect Roast

No one wants to go to the effort of preparing a meal and then have it fall flat on you. Today I’m going to share a time proven recipe that will be sure to impress not only your family, but also the cook herself. (himself)

It all starts with a quality, grass-fed roast packed with flavor and the nutrition your family needs. It all depends on your preference as far as what cut of roast to choose. If you prefer lean cuts of roast, go with the rump or shoulder roast. Would you rather have a really juicy roast? Choose chuck roast.
Here’s the recipe:

Grilled Roast

Chuck Roast
Santa Maria seasoning
1 (12 oz.) bottle Hickory Smoke Allegro marinade
3-4 cups water
Place frozen or thawed roasts on grill. It is alright if meat blackens somewhat. Take off grill and sprinkle with Santa Maria seasoning. Pour marinade over meat. Use 1 (12 oz) bottle for every 8-10 lbs. of meat. Add water. Bake slowly at 250-275* for 8 hours or more.

Note:
You may use other roasts, but I prefer chuck roast. I figure ½ lb. per person. I like to make this for our youth with baked beans and macaroni salad. It goes over well.

I can speak from experience that this is a very tasty eating experience. If you’d like to see more of these delicious recipes, we have our church cookbook, Down Home Southern Cookin’ available here. It is chuck full of delicious recipes compiled by the good cooks of our church.
