Rewards of Working with Nature

Today I want to take just a little time to extol the wonders of God's creation and how it all works together when we don't get in the way of things.
As a result of not using pesticides on our cattle or pastures, we're seeing increasing numbers of dung beetles. While they don't have such a beautiful name or, for that matter, pleasant job, (at least from a human's perspective), their worth is hard to calculate.
What's so great about a dung beetle?
They incorporate the manure into the soil providing much needed nutrients in a usable form for the grass and growing plants.
Manure patties are a breeding ground for flies and other parasites. With a heavy population of dung beetles burying the manure, the flies have to go to the neighbors farm to find somewhere to hatch their young.
Dung beetles dig tunnels into the soil creating pathways for oxygen and rainwater to enter the soil.
So, that's the short version.
See below for the work of these wonderful beetles.
