Take advantage of the price benefit of buying bulk. Customer pays $4.95/lb. hanging weight and that includes the processing fees. Typically the hanging weight on a half of beef will be around 300 - 350 lbs. but after the animal has been cleaned and weighed, we get the weight from the processor and charge accordingly.
*Actual take home weight of meat on a half will be +- 150 lbs. and will require 5-7 cu. ft. of freezer space.*
How Much Do I Get?It all depends on the size and how you choose to have your side of beef cut up but here is an approximate list of what you can expect from a half side of grass-fed beef.
However, with a custom processed animal, you choose exactly which cuts you would like. For example, if you prefer more ground beef over roasts, make a note of that and that's what you will get.
10-12 T-bone steaks (3/4” thick) 10-12 rib steaks (3/4”)8 sirloin steaks (3/4”) 8 round steaks (3/4”)2 sirloin tip roasts (3 lbs.) 6 chuck roasts (4 lbs.)4 arm roasts (3 lbs.) 2 rump roasts (3 lbs.)8 packages of stew beef (1 lb.) 4 packages of short ribs (1.5 lbs.)4 packages of soup bones (1.5 lbs.) 50 - 75 lbs. ground beef(Variety meats, if desired, such as heart, liver, tongue, and oxtail)
After you place your order, we will contact you when we take the animal in to be processed. You will then communicate with the processor to specify how you would like your half to be cut up.
Typically the beef will hang for 14 days or so before they cut it up. It can take up to three weeks from the time we deliver the animal to the processor before your beef will be ready to pick up.
